Welcome back to Missouri, the Show Me State! Well, we have a lot to show you around our state! Have you ever gotten a chance to check out some of our smaller towns, like Jefferson, Rollo or Hannibal? Hannibal is a nice place to visit if you happen to be in the area. Did you know that the character Colonel Potter from the hit television show M*A*S*H was from Hannibal, Missouri? That is right, we are considered to be the hometown for many TV show characters. Surely Hannibal has to be important for other reasons, and trust me, it is! Let me show you around our small city!

Do you like to be spooked by haunting stories of ghosts and scary houses? Well, we sure have our legends around the city of Hannibal. If you are feeling brave enough to be willing to have nightmares, come check out Haunted Hannibal Tours! When the sun goes down, the dead arise and roam the streets of the city. Come with us and we will get you acquainted with the background stories of the ghosts who will be with you during your entire stay.

Caves are Cool!

Okay, maybe the ghost tours sound too scary, fair enough! We have something that will surely interest you. Did you know that we have a few caves? We call them the Mark Twain Cave Complex! Here, we will give you tours of the beautiful caves of the area, and you will most certainly be in awe of their beauty. When you are done hiking, we have a few places around the cave where you can go and pan for gemstones! That sounds pretty cool! And did you know that caves are fairly cool year round? If you get too hot, you can cool off below the ground. When you are done with the hikes and the trails, and the Mark Twain tours, we will be more than happy to open our doors to the Mark Twain Restaurant! Though we may have the same name for most things inside of this complex, everything is different and unique within our cave complex!

We have many other little things you can do around our city, such as a nice morning walk through the Riverview Park, or a nice evening walk over to Lovers Leap. If you are ever here for the Fourth of July, then you should come over for Tom Sawyer Days! This event features a fence painting contest, frog jumping contest, mud volleyball, local arts and crafts and 4th of July fireworks display from Lover’s Leap.

So come on down to Hannibal, Missouri for a day and we will show you around all of the sights and attractions that we have to offer. Though we may be small on the map, we are mighty big on entertainment and beauty.
