Modes of transportation in St Petersburg are taxi, public transportation, hydrofoil – all of which can be found in terminal — or just your two feet. From the Marine Façade, where most ships dock, it is a 2 km walk to the Hermitage museum. This is the world’s second-largest art museum, so don’t expect to see everything in one day.

From the Hermitage, there is the Hydrofoil Peterhof Express. This will take you from the front of the Winter Palace/Hermitage Museum to Peterhof. You’ll go down the Neva river and Gulf of Finland, to the famous Peterhof. The Hydrofoil departs every 30 minutes.

From here, you can walk off those calories by taking a stroll down Nevsky Prospect. This is where all of those rubles will definitely come in handy. Nevsky Prospect is the heart of St. Petersburg and where you’ll find an abundance of cafes, shopping and more.

St Petersburg has much to offer in the way of good old sightseeing, also, so have your camera ready. The view from the top of St Isaac’s Cathedral is wonderful. Once you’ve experienced this beautiful view of the city, just walk across the street and take a look at the courtyards of the Admiralty building.
