As amazing as it may seem, there is a full size Parthenon in Nashville. This is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, built for the World’s Fair in 1897. The Belle Meade Plantation is an old real Southern plantation which is now a museum, and a real glimpse into Southern living of old. The Belmont Mansion also offers this glimpse into the past. It is located right on the grounds of Belmont University.

There are some of the country’s most beautiful parks in Nashville including the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park, the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere, and Warner Parks, which offer some great hiking trails.

There is music everywhere. The festive feeling seems to permeate the town, even though the citizens of Nashville go about their daily lives. If after all this sightseeing you still have the energy for the unusual, you should visit Robert’s Western World which sells great country boots by day, and turns into a real honky tonk at night.
